Collecting Data;Bad Sampling

  1. I found this video very helpful. From a visual standpoint, it was very easy to stay engaged because of the entertaining pictures. I also liked the examples used to describe biased polls - the "private school" example was a clear example of a biased poll; I was able to understand why exactly a surveyor needs a diverse sample to accurately represent a population. I was a little confused about the "call in poll" example. The scene in the commons threw me off a little bit (although it was really funny and I enjoyed it) - maybe an actual example of a call in poll heard on the radio or on tv would have been more lucid.

Other than that, the video was great! I really enjoyed it.

  2. This was a fantastic video. It was clear, concise, and visually pleasing. The examples were easy for me to understand and I will remember the material I learned from this video because it was presented memorably. I think that the video could have been improved if there was a little bit more text with the pictures. Such as "Biased Sample" displayed under the relevant section of video. Anyways! Great video guys.

  3. I really enjoyed this video. The visuals were very clear and the examples given were helpful. Like Miranda, I was initially confused with the call-in poll example, but after talking about it in class I understood it better. I think for that example y'all could have either described an actual call-in survey with a radio station, for example, just to make it clearer.

    Loved it. Good job guys.

  4. I thought the video was really clear and easy to understand. However, I wish that instead of having just pictures accompanying the audio, you had maybe some words or something explaining the concepts as well. I think for the call in poll example, it would have helped to clarify that Harrison was choosing to respond, and how your example related to an actual call in poll.

  5. This video is really helpful. I liked the descriptions of each type of bad sampling because your script was really concise and used different words than the ones in the book. I agree with what Abby said; the call in poll example would have been clearer if you had said Harrison was choosing to respond. But, your video was awesome.
